Race at School
Race at School
In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday The Oprah Winfrey Show examines
racism in our children's schools. Teens candidly tell Oprah about their biases, stereotypes,
and perceptions about racism as America is becoming more and more diverse. We need
to understand that we live in a world that gives certain people privileges because
of the color of their skin. How do we break through the wall of stereotypes when
so many of us are isolated from different ethnic groups, and are influenced by images
popularized in the media? Part of this clip was shown in that show.
